The Long, Long Trail

A site all about the soldiers, units, regiments and battles of the British Army of the First World War, and how to research and understand them. The link takes you to the page for the Lincolnshire Regiment where you can find out the movements of each of its battalions. 


 WW1 War Graves Project

The War Graves Project aims to locate and photograph all Great War graves located in the UK that are recorded by CWGC. This includes CWGC headstones as well as family headstones.


Lincolnshire Family History Society

Founded in 1990, the LFHS has six branches; Bourne, Grantham, Grimsby, Horncastle, Lincoln and London. Non-members are welcome to visit and use the facilities of their Research Centre and Library at Monks Way, Lincoln and to attend branch meetings free of charge.

 


Friends of the Lincoln Tank

The Friends are a group of enthusiasts dedicated to raising public awareness of the role of the City of Lincoln in the conception, development and building of the 20th century’s most formidable fighting machine. Formed in 2004 by a small group of tank fans, it has grown steadily with members from Lincolnshire and beyond.

 


The Great War Forum

The Great War Forum was established in 2002 and exists to discuss matters relating to the Great War 1914-19, to share information and aid research. It is a fantastic resource for those looking to discuss the War with several thousand people with the same interests.


Lincs to the Past

Lincs to the Past is a site that contains hundreds of thousands of records covering items held in Lincolnshire’s Historic Environment Record, Archives, Libraries, Museums and Tennyson Research Centre. Its search engine provides a single place from which to search through the catalogues of the cultural heritage collections held across Lincolnshire.

 


Lincolnshire Archives

The Lincolnshire County Council’s Archives offers a number of services including a public search room for members of the public to consult original archives, microfilm resources and library material relating to the county of Lincolnshire and its connections in other parts of the UK and overseas.
